How Transfer Credits Work

Students can progress through our BSN program of study in 3 years or less with qualifying gen ed transfer credits. Our academic advisors will work closely with you to review transcripts and transfer as many credits as possible.
Military Credits and Education (OH Only)
Active service members and veterans may request credit as documented on their Joint Services Transcript for all allowable courses according to equivalencies determined by the American Council on Education. Individuals who present with relevant military education and experience equal to but not limited to Basic Medical Technician Corpsman (Navy HM or Air Force BMTCP), Army Health Care Specialist (68W Army Medic), or Air Force Independent Duty Medical Technician (IMDT 4N0X1C) are eligible for advanced placement in a prelicensure nursing program. All courses can be challenged; however, individuals must have prior relevant education and experience that meet the specific requirements of each course.

My inspiration comes from my grandmother Rhodella Warren that became an LPN in the late 60’s. Additionally, I have a family that consists of nurses, pharmacists, and doctors. I, being an educational leader having previous experience with certificate and associate degree allied health programs, felt that this was a perfect transition. I have a serious passion of working with students that have either transitioned from one career to the nursing field as well as students that are beginning their career.
Arizona college is different from other nursing colleges based on the universal support given to students. The support ranges from the CEO, COO, VP of Operations, and the CP coordinating local support.
Support resources range from internal tutoring, after hour lab support as well as preceptorship programming.

Arizona College of Nursing has been named a 2026 Center of Excellence by the National League for Nursing (NLN). Understanding the differences between a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) school and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) school is crucial to planning your nursing career path. This is because the education requirements between RNs and LPNs vary significantly. An LPN program typically takes about one to two years to complete. It is intended to prepare students for entry-level nursing roles to perform basic nursing care under the supervision of registered nurse (RNs) and physicians.
There is no limit to how many times you can retake retake the NCLEX-RN in Ohio, but all applicable exam fees are required each time, and you must wait 45 days from the date of exam administration to retake the Ohio NCLEX-RN. After that, you may schedule another exam attempt; however, before this, the candidate must first obtain a new Authorization to Test (ATT) from the Ohio Board of Nursing. Once the ATT is provided, the candidate may begin the process of rescheduling the NCLEX-RN.

Applying to our three-year BSN program starts with a few straightforward requirements: a cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher from high school or college and a qualifying score on the HESI A2 assessment. Depending on your HESI A2 score, a GPA waiver may be available.

A nursing assistant provides basic patient care and support, such as helping with daily activities and monitoring vital signs, under the supervision of a registered nurse (RN).
