Spotlight on Employment Partner Massage Envy Spa

May 13, 2015

Blog 25-Massage EnvyMassage Envy Spa has been an employment partner of Arizona College Massage Therapy graduates for many years.  We appreciate their partnership with our Career Services Department and continued support in providing employment opportunities for the college’s Massage Therapy Graduates.  We recently had the pleasure of speaking with Cary Underwood, who is the Arizona Regional Recruiter for Massage Envy.  We wanted to focus on the background of Massage Envy and how Arizona College Massage Therapy graduates have been an asset in providing knowledgeable massage therapy services.

Massage Envy Spa is the pioneer and national leader of affordable massage and spa services. Nearly a decade ago, Massage Envy Spa was launched to create a completely new category in the wellness industry. Their intention was to promote a healthy lifestyle through affordable massage and spa services. As it turned out, people liked this idea.

Founded in 2002 right here in Scottsdale, Arizona, Massage Envy Spa now has 1,060 locations nationwide and 38 locations here in the state of Arizona.  In addition to professional massage services at affordable prices, another key component to their growth has been constant communication with their clients.  It’s for this reason that in 2009 Massage Envy opened their first Massage Envy Spa, which featured Healthy Skin facials and additional spa services.

After three million facials, seventy-five million massages and nearly a decade as the industry leader, Massage Envy Spa holds true to their mission: To provide a pathway to wellness through professional, convenient and affordable massage therapy and spa services.

The company is also the world’s largest employer of licensed/registered massage therapists with more than 25,000 therapists and estheticians providing over 18 million massages a year to a total of more than 1.5 million members.  As the Arizona Regional Recruiter for Massage Envy Spa, Cary Underwood’s focus is placement for massage therapists and estheticians within the 38 spa locations. One of the most important components is School Partnerships. Massage Envy Spa’s future is all about finding their next amazing massage therapists.

“Working with Massage Schools like Arizona College, whose curriculum produces the best of the next generation of massage therapists, is a pleasure.  The graduates from Arizona College are confident and ready to begin their journey into the field of massage therapy.  Arizona College has a dedication to the profession of Massage Therapy that is felt through their students, now licensed Massage Therapists that are a joy to hire and bring into the Massage Envy family”

-Cary Underwood, AZ Regional Recruiter Massage Envy Spa.

We appreciate Cary Underwood taking time out of her busy day to give a background on the successful Massage Envy Spa and why Arizona College Massage Therapy graduates are in demand.  If a career that incorporates helping others obtain optimal wellness interests you, then check out the Massage Therapy program at Arizona College.  Take a tour of the campus and see the Massage Therapy classroom and clinic.  Change lives and take the first step towards a new, meaningful career today!
