Fun Facts About Nursing School
Becoming a Registered Nurse requires a well-rounded education. It’s important to look for a school that prepares its students to provide high quality, innovative, and hands-on nursing care. Just think about it; as a Registered Nurse, you will be treating patients and making a difference in the lives of people on a daily basis! Completing the education required to begin a rewarding career as a Registered Nurse can be very challenging and rigorous; however, it can also be filled with excitement and fun! Here are some fun facts about the nursing program at Arizona College:
- Hands-on Education Opportunities – Arizona College nursing students have access to a modern nursing laboratory in a realistic hospital setting. This laboratory even includes high-fidelity manikins that resemble real patients! These manikins can be programmed to communicate verbally and display many of the bodily functions that a real life patient would exhibit. They have monitors and digital equipment, providing an advanced learning experience for students. You may even have a role play conversation with your manikin patient, all while developing your nursing skills.
- Clinical Experiences in a Variety of Settings – Nursing students gain the opportunity to apply their knowledge and skills in a wide range of medical environments. This is a wonderful chance to experience different specialties and work side by side with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals. Students have clinical experiences in settings such as Family Practice, Long-term Care Facilities, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Hospitals, as well as Behavior Health and Pediatrics. Students have even witnessed multiple labor and deliveries while on clinical rotations! These clinical rotations are an exciting way to bring your nursing skills and education into practice.
- Community Involvement – The Nursing program at Arizona College often participates in community outreach events. These events are an amazing way for students, staff, and faculty to bond as a team and have some fun while making a difference in the lives of others.
- Fun Campus Events – Each month, Arizona College has fun campus events that all programs are invited to participate in. These events are a great way to de-stress, meet new friends, and relax between classes. Participating in these campus events is a great way to network and add some laughter to your day.
