Dean of General Education

Education: Doctor of Education in Leadership with an emphasis in Healthcare, Hardin-Simmons University | Master of Healthcare Administration, Louisiana State University | Bachelor of Arts in Spanish and Biology, Tarleton State University | Nursing Certificate, Ranger College

Abigail Fernandez serves as the Dean of General Education at Arizona College of Nursing – Dallas Campus. Prior to becoming Dean of General Education, she served in several academic leadership roles including Adjunct Professor, Full-Time Faculty, and Assistant Dean. After graduating from nursing school in 2019, Abigail began working in healthcare during the COVID-19 pandemic while also pursuing opportunities in education through local schools and higher education institutions. Through these experiences, she discovered a passion for both healthcare and education, which led her to continue growing within higher education leadership and instruction.

Her background in both healthcare and academics has given her a strong passion for student success, faculty development, and leadership within healthcare education. Abigail is dedicated to creating supportive learning environments and building meaningful connections with students through experience, mentorship, and relatability.
