## Hear From Nursing Students in Our School

My favorite course was lunch. No, just kidding, I loved pharmacology taught by
Ms. Sabu. She is just a fantastic instructor. Professor Beard was an amazing
encouragement throughout my time in nursing school. His positive, uplifting
spirit will be something that will still carry me through my career.

My favorite memory at Arizona College of Nursing will always be the moment I met
my nursing sister. Another memory that stands out is the day I mastered one of
my simulations as the charge nurse. I remember feeling proud, confident, and
finally seeing all of my hard work pay off. Those two moments are memories I’ll
always carry with me.

The baccalaureate degree program in nursing at Arizona College of Nursing –
Dallas is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (

All Arizona College of Nursing campuses are also institutionally accredited by

Understanding the differences between a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) school
and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) school is crucial to planning your
nursing career path. The education requirements between RNs and LVNs vary
significantly. An LVN program typically takes about one to two years to complete
and is intended to prepare students for entry-level nursing roles to perform
basic care under the supervision of registered nurses (RNs) and physicians.

Candidates are allowed to retake the NCLEX-RN exam multiple times if needed.
However, they must continue to submit an application to the Texas Board of
Nursing and pay applicable fees. A U.S.-educated candidate must pass within four
years of graduation, and the last application must be submitted at least 120
days before eligibility expires.

A nursing assistant provides basic patient care and support, such as helping
with daily activities and monitoring vital signs, under the supervision of a
registered nurse (RN). An RN, on the other hand, has more advanced training and
responsibilities, including developing and implementing patient care plans,
administering medications, and performing complex medical procedures. RNs also
oversee and coordinate care provided by nursing assistants and other healthcare
staff.

Earning a BSN degree can open doors to more advanced roles and opportunities in

comprehensive education and clinical experience to help advance your career.

Arizona College of Nursing (AZCN) – Dallas is not a 100% online nursing program.
However, most of our campuses offer some online nursing courses. The AZCN

Contact our admissions team to learn more about our online course formats and
how you can earn a BSN degree in just three years.

After completing your BSN degree and fulfilling Texas licensing requirements,

**Important Note:** A BSN degree alone does not qualify individuals to work as
registered nurses. You must also pass the NCLEX-RN examination and obtain state
licensure before pursuing these career opportunities.

The NCLEX-RN is for registered nurse licensure after completing a BSN or ADN
program, while the NCLEX-PN is for practical/vocational nurse licensure after
completing an LPN or LVN program. Both exams are developed by the National
Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN) and required for nursing licensure in
the United States. For RNs in Texas, licensure allows greater autonomy, higher
clinical responsibility, and more career advancement opportunities.

The NCLEX exam is the national licensing examination required to become a
registered nurse. Passing it demonstrates that you’ve met the competency
standards for safe and effective nursing practice. It’s a standardized test
across all states, ensuring consistency in professional nursing standards.
Successfully completing the NCLEX allows you to apply for licensure and begin
your nursing career in Texas.
