Arizona College is thankful to all Veterans, especially to those Veterans who have chosen to attend Arizona College to achieve their educational goals. We are continually evaluating our services and process available to better serve our Veteran students with resources both on and off campus. Mr. Dennis Hobgood is our Agency Director, and he is the contact for any student Veteran that might need some assistance or has any questions.
Mr. Hobgood wanted to share a valuable resource for our military Veterans and their families.  It’s called the Military Veteran Resource Network.  This is an amazing resource for Veterans and military families to connect with every imaginable resource for Veterans including topics such as: mental and physical health, finances, family and social support and a confidential crisis hotline.  All resources meet the high standards of the Arizona Coalition for Military Families.
Once on the site you can sign up for an account and receive newsletters and updates etc. If you are not a Veteran please share this information with any Veterans you know, as this is truly an excellent resource. Here is the link: http://militaryveteranresourcenetwork.org.
Secondly, we are pleased to announce that Veteran Steering Committees have been formed at both the Glendale and Mesa campuses. This committee will be holding meetings every 5 weeks and all Veteran students are highly encouraged to attend. These meetings will be an opportunity for Veteran students to share ideas, resources and provide feedback directly to Arizona College, from the Veteran’s point of view. We are interested to hear what our student Veterans have to say.
Arizona College has been certified by the Arizona Department of Veterans Services, as a Veteran Supportive Campus. This certification reflects our commitment to the Veterans we serve, and we are honored to be recognized by the AZDVS for this. For more information on Veteran Supportive Campus certification, visit AZDVS at: https://dvs.az.gov
Lastly, Arizona College-Mesa campus, received a generous donation from the City of Mesa and the local VFW post of  4 flags with stanchions in honor of our Veterans and our status as a Veteran Supportive Campus. On Tuesday, March 18th, Mr. Frank Alger presented the flags in an official military presentation conducted by the young Marines of Mesa. If you get a chance, check out our Facebook page for photos of the event.
Again, if you have any Veteran or Agency related questions or feedback, please contact Mr. Hobgood at: dhobgood@azcollegeold.local.
