## Put Your Transfer Credits to Work at AZCN

Arizona College of Nursing has created a streamlined process to bring your
academic hard work with you. If you are looking for nursing schools that accept
transfer credits, AZCN offers flexible transfer credit options and a
straightforward admissions process, you can hit the ground running and move
confidently on your path to nursing.

## Get The Credit You Deserve

Arizona College of Nursing welcomes students from a variety of academic
backgrounds and recognizes the value of the coursework you’ve already completed.
Our accessible admissions pathway and transfer credit policies are designed to
help you make the most of your previous education, possibly saving you time and
money on your path to becoming a nurse.

AZCN has clear and attainable eligibility requirements of a
**cumulative GPA of 2.75** benchmark from high school or college transcripts
which makes admission approachable for most applicants. Those who do not meet
that threshold can still qualify for acceptance by
**scoring 75% or better on the HESI exam**, allowing more students the
opportunity to pursue their nursing goals.

Our academic team personally reviews every transfer credit submission to ensure
you receive full and fair consideration for the credits you’ve earned.

## How to Apply for Transfer Credit

You’ll need to request two things from your previous institution(s) to apply for
transfer credit:

1. An official transcript
2. A copy of the course catalog

Keep in mind these materials must be received before transfer credit will be
awarded.

## Why Transfer Students Choose Arizona College of Nursing

- **Accessible Admissions Standard: **Our most common pathway to qualify is
through a 2.75 cumulative GPA from high school or college transcripts, making
the path to enrollment clear and achievable.
- **Additional Admissions Pathway Available:** Students whose cumulative GPA
falls below 2.75 may still qualify for acceptance by scoring 75% or better on
the HESI exam, because your potential isn’t defined by a single number.
- **In-Progress Courses May Count:** Currently enrolled students can potentially
transfer credits for courses already in progress at the time of their Arizona
College of Nursing start date, so you don’t have to pause your education to
  begin.
- **Extended Transfer Flexibility for Accepted Students:** Accepted students
benefit from an additional 4 sessions of eligibility under the transfer credit
policy if credits fall outside the standard window near their start date,
  offering extra peace of mind.
- **Generous Humanities & General Education Window:** Non-math/science courses
completed within 10 years of AZCN acceptance date with a “C” or higher may
qualify for transfer credit, meaning many of your general education courses
  could count.
- **Broad Course Eligibility:** Science and math courses completed within 5
years of AZCN acceptance date with a “B” or higher are eligible for transfer
consideration, giving recent graduates a strong advantage.

_Transfer credits are evaluated on a case-by-case basis. No credits will be granted until all requested transcripts and materials have been received and reviewed by the AZCN academic team._

## BSN Program Credit Transfer Eligibility

Transfer credit granted based on course and grade earned within completed
timeframes. Applicants may request that general education credits earned at
another accredited college be evaluated for transfer to the BSN program.

The transfer institution must be accredited by an agency approved by the United
States Department of Education (USDE) or recognized by the Council for Higher
Education Accreditation (CHEA) or the American Council of Education (ACE).

Transfer credit is granted only for General Education Science and Math courses
that have been completed within 5 years of your acceptance date to Arizona
College of Nursing, with a letter grade of “B” or higher.

Transfer credit is granted only for all other General Education courses with a
letter grade of “C” or higher. Non-science related general education courses
must have been completed within 10 years of your acceptance date to Arizona
College of Nursing.

Students may submit unofficial transcripts for review by the Transfer Credit
Evaluation team at any time prior to the start of classes at Arizona College of
Nursing. The initial evaluation allows students to plan their academic journey
and estimate when they will begin the core nursing classes. Arizona College of
Nursing must receive official college transcripts within sixteen weeks of the
class start. Students entering core nursing courses must ensure the College
receives the official college transcripts prior to the first day of class.

Course descriptions from a former institution’s catalog are analyzed and credit
is accepted for those successfully completed courses that closely follow course
content and duration of courses. Courses in a student’s major must meet the same
general course objectives.
