## Our NCLEX Preparation Course Includes:

During the NCLEX preparation class, our instructors work with each student
individually to answer questions as they study. For the areas where a student
needs extra help, teachers will walk them through example case studies and give
personalized feedback.

These assignments are individualized based on student performance of weekly
assessments. The custom assignments are designed by ATI, our comprehensive
learning system.

During our 3-day live review, instructors will guide students with test-taking
strategies and best practices.

Even after graduating, our students will continue to have access to the ATI
learning products for 1 year. Using the ATI learning resources, students can go
through NCLEX practice questions and get feedback on areas they need to improve.

## NCLEX Preparation Starts On Day 1

![Nursing Degree Students Preparing for the NCLEX Exam in Clinical Simulation](https://arizonacollege.edu/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/BSN-Program-students-in-a-nursing-school-simulation-lab.webp)

From the first day of general education classes in our program, students are
introduced to critical-thinking processes and concepts that will prepare them
for the NCLEX-RN. The core of the NCLEX is clinical judgment, which combines
critical-thinking skills, data analysis, active listening, and patient
observation to provide quality medical care.

Arizona College of Nursing has designed our nursing curriculum to include
clinical judgment training in every class that students take. Our instructors
help students to utilize their critical-thinking skills as they work through
patient scenarios and case studies.

Our extensive clinical judgment training gives students the skills necessary to
pass the NCLEX-RN exam and succeed in the nursing field.

## How We Prepare You For NCLEX

![How to get a BSN Degree](https://arizonacollege.edu/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/clipboard.svg)

### Virtual Practice Exams Using ATI

Students take multiple practice exams with NCLEX-style questions using
Assessment Technologies Institute (ATI), our comprehensive learning resource.
These virtual exams are designed to prepare learners for the NCLEX exam and get
students comfortable with the test format.

![Study Plan Icon](https://arizonacollege.edu/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/study-plan.svg)

### Customized Study Plans

Utilizing the ATI learning system, our students have access to assignments,
study plans, case studies, and activities throughout the nursing program. In the
final semester, students take an NCLEX prep class that provides weekly study
plans and assignments in preparation for the exam. These study plans focus on
the areas where students scored lowest during their practice tests. Our
instructors work with students on these weaker areas and support them to ensure
they fully understand the concepts.

### NCLEX Teaching On Day 1

As a nursing-only school, our general education classes are uniquely tailored to
the nursing field. Once you enter your core nursing courses, NCLEX-style
questions are used often during lessons and quizzes to get students thinking
like a real-world nurse. All this preparation helps you get comfortable with the
NCLEX format, and feel ready for it.

## What Our BSN Program Students Say

Arizona College was incredibly helpful in preparing us for NCLEX. Throughout our
nursing program, we had to answer NCLEX-style questions that prompted us to use
clinical judgment. ATI’s 3-day workshop was also beneficial. Happy to say that
all of the students in my nursing cohort passed the NCLEX!

## Common NCLEX FAQs

NCLEX preparation throughout your nursing education helps you integrate
knowledge, develop critical thinking skills, and build confidence for the
licensing examination. Starting early allows you to identify knowledge gaps and
learning needs while you still have access to faculty support and resources. At
AZCN, our BSN program includes built-in NCLEX preparation throughout the
coursework, so you don’t have to worry about studying for the NCLEX exam
separately. This integrated approach means your coursework is preparing you for
licensure success from day one.

Effective NCLEX preparation involves active learning techniques, regular
practice with NCLEX-style questions, and focused review of your weaker content
areas. NCLEX success requires understanding concepts rather than memorizing
facts, as the exam tests your ability to apply nursing knowledge in real
clinical scenarios. Many students find that group study sessions, teaching
concepts to others, and explaining rationales enhance their preparation
effectiveness. Consistent daily practice is much more beneficial than intensive
cramming sessions before the NCLEX exam.

To be eligible for the NCLEX-RN, you must graduate from a state-approved nursing
education program, such as a BSN or ADN program. You must also submit a complete
application to your state board of nursing, pay required fees, and meet any
additional state-specific requirements such as background checks or education
verification. Some states have additional requirements like completing specific
coursework or clinical hours. Your nursing program must verify your graduation
and submit confirmation to the state board before you can receive authorization
to test.

You should bring one form of acceptable identification to the NCLEX exam. Your
ID must be valid, government-issued, and include your first and last name in
roman characters, a recent photo, and a signature. The name on your ID must
exactly match the name you registered with in the Pearson VUE system. Personal
items like phones, bags, watches, and study materials are not allowed in the
testing room and must be stored in sealable plastic bags provided by the testing
center. Make sure to arrive at least 30 minutes before your scheduled testing
time.

On NCLEX exam day, expect to arrive early for check-in procedures that include
identity verification and security screening. Staff will photograph you and may
scan your palm for identification purposes. Electronic devices must be stored in
sealable plastic bags provided by the testing center. During the exam, you’ll
work at a computer workstation in a quiet, monitored environment. You can take
breaks, but the exam clock continues running during unscheduled breaks. The
testing center staff will provide instructions and answer procedural questions,
but they cannot help with NCLEX exam content.

The NCLEX covers four major categories: Safe and Effective Care Environment,
Health Promotion and Maintenance, Psychosocial Integrity, and Physiological
Integrity. The exam tests your ability to apply nursing knowledge to real-world
clinical situations rather than just memorizing facts. Questions cover key areas
of nursing practice that you’ll encounter as an entry-level nurse. Your BSN
program includes NCLEX preparation throughout your coursework to help you feel
confident and ready for the exam.
